To progressively lower their annual emissions so as to reach or exceed a decrease by the year 2030 of 50% with respect to the base year of 2008.

To achieve a self-produced renewable energy percentage of at least 35% by the year 2030. They must also commit to becoming climate neutral by 2050.

Barcelona Sustainable Catalunya is a new certification mark wineries may apply for in 2023. It’s a pioneering initiative aimed at preserving the Catalan winemaking territory, sustainable development and offering the highest guarantees for consumers.

International projection

Barcelona Sustainable Catalunya is being projected internationally with the introduction of the name Barcelona as a means for global recognition and a firm engagement with sustainability through the programme Barcelona + Sustainable.

Barcelona is also the capital of our winemaking country where 50% of the still wine production is marketed under the DO Catalunya, thus boosting the export vocation of this DO’s wines.
